On June 24, 2022, Roe v. Wade was overturned. The authority to regulate abortion returned to the states, and while many celebrated this historic moment, we knew it was only the beginning. Sadly, in Colorado, lawmakers doubled down on expanding abortion access.
Then, in the early morning hours of June 25, 2022, my phone rang. It was 3:30 a.m. “Our center is on fire.”
Shock. Disbelief. Confusion. Frustration. Anger.
What followed felt like an eternity. There were safety threats while investigations by the fire department, local police, and the FBI began. News crews arrived. Phones rang constantly. Text messages flooded in. People wanted answers. Others wanted to help. I was trying to process what had happened while simultaneously figuring out how to move Life Choices forward. When we were finally allowed inside, the devastation was worse than I could have ever imagined. The air was toxic. The destruction was extensive. Homemade incendiary devices had been thrown into the building, leaving behind charred walls, shattered glass, and hateful messages. Pentagrams had been painted inside. “Bans off our bodies” and “if abortions aren’t safe, neither are you” were graffitied outside.

It was clear that whoever did this wanted more than to damage a building. They wanted to intimidate, they wanted to create fear, and they wanted to silence a ministry dedicated to serving women, men, and their families.
Hell was angry. We were the target, but evil did not have the final word. The enemy thought he had won. He thought he had silenced us. He thought the destruction would discourage us, divide us, and stop the work God had called us to do. Satan thought we would stop fighting for life, stop sharing the hope of Christ, and stop being a light in our community.
But he underestimated the power of God. This attack rekindled the fire inside all of us that burns brighter and stronger to this day.

In the midst of insurance claims; mitigation crews; construction plans, permits, and inspections; and endless paperwork, our community still needed us, and we had nowhere to go. But God provided.
Churches called.
Life Bridge Christian Church opened their doors and provided space for our administrative staff.
FaithPoint Baptist Church gave us room to store clothing and baby items for our clients.
Summit Church provided space for ultrasounds, nurses, and advocates so women could continue receiving care.
Connection Church raised funds.
The Body of Christ stepped forward and carried us when we could not carry ourselves.
I won’t pretend those months were easy. For a year and a half, there were delays, frustrations, setbacks, and discouragement. We operated from three different locations while trying to rebuild what had been destroyed. Reading hateful comments, threats, and false accusations was painful, especially knowing how many women and families depend on our services and now were in fear to come see us.
But while the destruction was visible, so was God’s faithfulness. My board and staff went to work, and volunteers showed up.
And so did you. You prayed. You encouraged. You called. You gave. You sustained us in ways we could not comprehend.
When the road seemed impossibly long, your support reminded us that we were not walking it alone.
What the enemy intended for evil, God used for good. Four years later, we arose from the ashes and are still saving the lives of the unborn, sharing the gospel, helping men, women, and their families, and standing for life.
Today, however, the need remains as great as ever. One thing I’ve learned over these four years is that the battle doesn’t stop. The attacks may look different, but the fight continues.
Every day, women facing unexpected pregnancies come through our doors looking for answers. Fathers need encouragement and mentoring. Families need resources, education, medical services, and hope.
Four years ago, you helped us recover. Today, I’m asking you to help us continue this mission.
Will you prayerfully consider making a special gift today or becoming a monthly Life Choices Partner? If you are already a monthly supporter, I would like to challenge you to consider increasing your gift.
Your support ensures that women, men, and families continue to receive life-affirming care, practical resources, and the hope of Christ.
